BLAZIN ANNEX
First thing first, itís "Blazin Annex" not "Blazing Annex". A lot of websites/people have been making this mistake. So please guys, get that precise. There are few things in this article we would like to discuss about. First, what is the meaning of this album? Second, why did this album not have a "sort of wildness"? And last but not least, why is "Blazin Annex" being compared to "Stoic Bliss"?
This was the definition of hip-hop, how it was quoted from "wikipedia" by "Rohini Alamgir": Typically, hip hop music consists of rhythmic lyrics making use of techniques like assonance, alliteration, and rhyme. Since this is the definition of hip-hop, than you guys havenít really listened to album. If you guys have heard the album, than you guys havenít listened to lyrics because all of our lyrics were parallel to the script. We have covered every topic that we thought this album should have. The "Takeover" reflects to two things. First, the title "Takeover" comes from the word "Annex". Second, we want hip-hop to take over Bangladesh. This album covers two sides. One is New York, and second is Bangladesh. The accent of this album is in New York style. This is the reason why you might have thought that the album failed.
Now letís get into the comments that you guys have stated about us. This particular comment brought up few questions: The only drawback is that this album does not contain the sort of wild, danceable party tracks which many have come to relate with hip hop. These are couple of tracks that are party songs: Shapthahik Syllabus, Rosher Hari,Nishi Raat, & Fly High. Also there are two tracks which heavy metal listeners could dance to: Opar Hoiye & Rock On. Every topic we have covered in this album was for everyone. If you guys couldnít dance to these tracks, than we donít know what kind of music you guys dance to.
Last but not least, this statement was so incongruous to us: Being the only two Bangladeshi hip-hop albums, it is inevitable that they will be compared, and unfortunately, Blazing Annex will lose out to Stoic Bliss, based on the one fact that their album is just not danceable and lacks the energy and enthusiasm that is evident in the latter. Blazin Annex should not be compared to Stoic Bliss, because both of the groups have two different styles. Everything was original in our album from lyrics (Blazin Annex) to the beats produced by Rated PG. Rated PG was not influenced by any other beats from other hip-hop artist. Stoic Blissís album was recreated from some of the scraps tracks that they had before in their website. We are not saying that we are better than Stoic Bliss or something is wrong with their album, but we are just saying that these two groups should not be compared; because of our different hip-hop techniques. If we were compared, people should compare us based on music and songs, not on whose making people dance. And the part about the lack of enthusiasm, we put a lot of effort and energy into this album. The only songs that were "blue" were Keno and Bhromor Koiyo Giya, which was a remix.
In conclusion, this is our opinion on the article that "Rohini Alamgir" has posted about Blazin Annex. Nothing is wrong with it, but we think itís too soon to put up an album review. It has just reached New York, so you need a little more time to state that the album has "failed to Takeover." And the best way to find out if this album is a failure or not, is if we let the people decide; it tends to be a productive way to rate an album. Anyway, thanks for giving your opinion and your time for reading this.
